Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who can access the pantry? Are there specific requirements that must be met?

The pantry serves everyone in the Temple Community! With no eligibility requirements, we hope to reduce the barriers to accessing food. Anyone with an active OwlCard is eligible to access the pantry. This includes undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff. We encourage walk-ins during our open hours of Monday 1pm-5pm, Tuesday 1pm-5pm, Wednesday 4pm-8pm, Thursday 1pm-5pm, and Friday 9am-12pm.

How often can I come in?

Everyone in the Temple Community is allotted one visit a week, and in their visit, they are allotted 16 points of non-perishable food, an unlimited amount of perishable food, and two personal hygiene items. Our non-perishable inventory is associated with a point value. Items considered a side dish are 1 point, items considered a meal are 2 points, and items considered multiple meals are 3 points.

When are personal hygiene items available?

We stock personal hygiene products that are available the first full week of the month, however, menstrual products are available during all our open hours.

How much does it cost to use the pantry?

Utilizing the Cherry Pantry is completely free! Just make sure to tap your OwlCard upon entry.

Where is the pantry located?

We are located on the second floor of the Howard Gittis Student Center. Be sure to check out our ‘Directions to the Pantry’ tab for more detailed information.
