Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who can access the pantry? Are there specific requirements that must be met?
The pantry serves everyone in the Temple Community! With no eligibility requirements, we hope to reduce the barriers to accessing food. Anyone with an active OwlCard is eligible to access the pantry. This includes undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff. We encourage walk-ins during our open hours of Monday 12pm-5pm, Tuesday 12pm-5pm, Wednesday 2pm-7pm, Thursday 12pm-5pm, and Friday 9am-12pm.
How does it work?
Everyone in the Temple Community is allotted 16 points of non-perishable food, an unlimited amount of perishable food, and two personal hygiene items per week. Our non-perishable inventory is associated with a point value. Items considered a side dish are 1 point, items considered a meal are 2 points, and items considered multiple meals are 3 points.
How much does it cost to use the pantry?
Shopping at the Cherry Pantry is always free! Just make sure to tap your OwlCard upon entry.
Where is the pantry located?
We are located on the first floor of the Howard Gittis Student Center. Be sure to check out our ‘Directions to the Pantry’ tab for more detailed information.
